Russians have spent Br4.2 trillion on new cars since the beginning of the year

From January to November 2024, Russians spent 4.24 trillion rubles on new cars. Of these, foreign cars accounted for 85.6% of this amount, Avtostat Info reported on December 23.

According to analysts, at the end of 11 months of this year, the weighted average price of a new car in Russia amounted to 2.97 million rubles. At the same time, the weighted average price of a foreign car amounted to 3.71 million rubles, while the Russian car - 1.35 million rubles.

From January to November, Russians spent Br3.4 trillion to buy new crossovers, which amounted to 81% of the total amount of funds for this period.

At the end of November, the turnover from the sale of new passenger cars amounted to Br342 billion. Of these, the largest share belongs to the SUV segment - Br269.3 billion. The turnover from the sale of cars of B and B+ segments amounted to Br33.3 billion in November.

December 18, Director of New Cars Department of Rolf company Nikolai Ivanov said that in 2025 some Chinese car brands, such as Livan, Kaiyi, SWM and Foton, may leave the Russian market.

On December 13, it was reported that from January to November 2024, 848 thousand new passenger cars of Chinese brands were sold in Russia. This is 80% more than in January-November 2023. The share of passenger cars of brands from China in the Russian market increased from 50.1% to 58.6% over the year. The most popular brands among Russians were Haval, Chery, Geely and Changan.
