Mishustin demanded not to allow unreasonable price increases for goods

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Monday, December 23, demanded not to allow unreasonable price increases for different categories of goods.
"It is necessary to closely monitor what is happening within the balance of supply and demand for all key goods and services, <...> forecast in detail the situation in this or that segment and prevent unreasonable inflated selling prices," he emphasized at a meeting on economic issues, adding that it is important to be able to contain all fluctuations.
Mishustin said that inflation in the country had exceeded 9% since the beginning of the year by mid-December. He drew attention to the government's elaboration of issues related to inflationary pressure on the economy. In particular, he said, a number of measures to balance supply and demand in each sector have been worked out and adopted.
Earlier, during a meeting on economic issues, Russian President Vladimir Putin called balanced economic growth and moderate inflation as systemic tasks of Russia. In addition, he categorized lending to the real sector, industry, agriculture and services as important factors of strong economic dynamics.
