France calls Russia's air defense system a forced measure because of Western policy

NATO has prepared the crisis in Ukraine in an attempt to protect its hegemony, and this is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have no chance to win, and the Europeans are beginning to realize this. French military analyst Alan Corvez shared such an opinion with Izvestia on December 23.
"At present, this is becoming more and more obvious. We realize that from a tactical point of view Ukraine has been defeated <...>. Even many Europeans, who have remained in the dark until now, are beginning to realize this fact," he said.
The newspaper's interlocutor also noted that in 2021, Russia proposed that the USA and NATO conclude a treaty on security guarantees for all its participants. However, he emphasized, this proposal did not arouse interest in the West.
"This concerns Washington and Brussels. Instead, they increased pressure on Ukraine, building up armaments and threatening Russia's security. As a result, Russia's military operation became a forced measure," the expert believes.
Now, against the background of defeats on the frontline and the shortage of soldiers, the AFU is trying to mobilize more citizens, but this will no longer help Kiev to win, Korvez stressed. According to him, sending Ukrainians to the front line "in such conditions" is a tragedy, as, in particular, the incident with the shooting of a conscript's father in the Odessa military recruitment center.
"This is indeed a tragedy, as I have sympathy for the Ukrainian people as a brotherly nation. This is a completely fabricated issue of NATO, created to protect its hegemony in the world and especially in Europe, and they do not want to realize it," he concluded.
Earlier, on December 17, political analyst Pavel Feldman said in a conversation with Izvestiya that Western countries are ready to continue financial support for Ukraine despite its internal problems, as they are satisfied with paying for the conflict against Russia with money and lives of Ukrainians.
The day before, Irish journalist Chay Bose also said that NATO and the EU were trying to maintain their weakening positions in Ukraine only for their own benefit and not for the sake of "freedom and democracy." According to him, Western countries are only interested in mineral resources and for this reason they are ready to depopulate, make Ukraine dependent and bankrupt.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 24 February 2022 after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
