AGR announced a recall of nearly 56,000 Volkswagen and Skoda cars in Russia. The service campaign started on December 15, Rosstandart reported on Monday.

Under the recall are 31,700 Skoda Rapid and 23,900 Volkswagen Polo cars, which were sold from 2014 to 2023.

The reason for the recall is said to be the possible destruction of the fuel line material in "extremely rare circumstances". This can occur during prolonged idling and extremely low ambient temperatures (below -35 °C) due to the accumulation of electrostatic charge on the surface of the fuel lines.

Dealers will replace the fuel filter ground cable on recalled vehicles. The work with the car will take about half an hour, the work will be free of charge for car owners.

On October 31 "AGR" group of companies stated that warranty and service maintenance of Volkswagen cars continues in Russia. AGR recalled that in May last year it acquired the assets of LLC "Volkswagen Group Rus" and its subsidiaries. Since the acquisition and conclusion of agreements AGR is authorized to organize after-sales service of Volkswagen cars in the territory of the Russian Federation.
