Expert predicted the ruble exchange rate this week

This week, the dollar rate will be around 97.5-103.5 rubles, euro - 102.5-107 rubles, yuan - 13.5-14.2 rubles, believes the head of the department of research and investment strategies of Alfa-Forex, Spartak Sobolev. He told Izvestia on Monday, December 23.

Earlier, the Russian Central Bank set the dollar rate for December 21 at 102.34 rubles, euro - 106.54, yuan - about 13.99 rubles. On December 23, the yuan is trading around 13.69 rubles on the Moscow Exchange.

According to Sobolev, the week ending the outgoing year may contribute to the strengthening of the ruble's position on the currency market due to the factor of tax payments.

"We expect the consolidation of quotations of the national currency within the range of 97.5-103.5 rubles per dollar, 102.5-107 rubles per euro and 13.5-14.2 rubles per yuan," - said the expert.

Earlier, December 6, head of Sberbank German Gref said that there is no room for a serious weakening of the ruble. In his opinion, the dollar rate at the end of the next year, 2025 will be approximately 112-115 rubles. At the same time, he admitted that so far some weakening of the national currency is indeed present, but no surprises are expected: the ruble exchange rate will fluctuate depending on the situation.
