Belarusian border guards found four beaten refugees on the border with Poland

Border Guard Service of Belarus found four beaten refugees from Morocco and Egypt on the border with Poland. This was reported by the State Border Committee (SBC) of Belarus on December 23.

"Citizens of Egypt and Morocco were in an exhausted state, their faces and clothes were in blood. The men explained that Polish law enforcers used not only batons to them, but also flash-bang grenades, tear gas, as well as shot the refugees in the face with traumatic weapons," the agency said on its website.

One of the foreigners, who speaks Russian, said the Poles laughed as they wounded them. After the abuse, the Polish military threw the four men into the Belarusian territory through an animal gate. It is specified that border guards found the foreigners on December 22, provided them with first aid and called doctors. The refugees were taken to Svisloch district hospital.

An investigation team was working at the place, where the citizens of two African countries were found.

Earlier, November 29, Belarusian border guards found a refugee from Egypt, beaten by Poles, in Svisloch district of Belarus at the border. He almost didn't speak. Doctors hospitalized him and diagnosed a fracture of the arm.

In addition, November 18, Belarusian border guards found five refugees, beaten by Poles, in Berastavitski district of Hrodna voblast. Among the foreigners were citizens of Iran and Afghanistan, they were recorded signs of beatings and lacerations.

October 30,official representative of the Belarusian GPK Anton Bychkovski stressed that such an attitude of the Polish security forces to foreign refugees on the border with Belarus is a manifestation of xenophobia.

Before that, October 23, Belarusian border guards found the sixth body of a refugee on the border with Poland since the beginning of the year. Judging by the appearance, the deceased was a native of one of the African countries. When the Belarusians found the corpse, the Polish border guards were near the fence. A total of 27 bodies of foreigners have been found on the border with Poland since 2021.
