Over the past two years, trade turnover between Moscow and Belarus has increased by almost 30%, supplies of construction materials have increased by almost 60%, and tourist turnover - by almost half. This was reported by the mayor of the Russian capital, Sergei Sobyanin, after his meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk.

According to Sobyanin, the meeting discussed the development of bilateral cooperation. "Free trade within the Union State creates favorable conditions for cooperation in many areas. Difficult realities have further united and strengthened our ties," the mayor wrote in his Telegram channel.

In other areas of cooperation - electronics, engineering, medicine, pharmaceuticals - Moscow and Belarus have "very good dynamics," he said. The Russian capital is ready to share successful experience "in the creation of modern digital management systems in various industries," Sobyanin noted.

The Moscow mayor also expressed confidence that in 2025 the parties will be able to jointly implement "many large-scale projects for the benefit of millions of residents of the capitals of Russia and Belarus.

At the meeting with Sobyanin, Lukashenko offered the assistance of Belarusian specialists in the production of Moskvich cars. "I very much support you in the fact that you, having given up on these Western sanctions, have started to produce your cars, which we once knew well, but already at a higher level. I think there will be a place for Belarus in these projects, especially in terms of auto components and other things. Maybe even more," said the Belarusian president.

During the conversation Lukashenko also noted that "Moskvichi" is "our common thing," and reminded that Belarus had participated in the production of these cars in the past.
