Australian resident accused of killing nearly a hundred kangaroos

An Australian man has been charged with animal cruelty after the remains of 98 shot kangaroos were found on a military base. The news portal reported on December 23.

"The man is facing a number of charges after he allegedly shot dozens of kangaroos at a military base in the Hunter area of New South Wales," the material said.

Allegedly, in October, police found the remains of 98 kangaroos on the grounds of the Singleton Infantry School training base. It is noted that the military are undergoing firearms training there.

It is specified that also police allegedly found an ammunition box and two rounds of ammunition on the base. Law enforcement officials claim that a rifle was used to kill the animals.

Earlier, on December 7, a man who threw five cats and a dog from the 11th floor was taken into custody in Tomsk. As a result of the incident, three of the five cats and one dog died, two more cats were sent to a veterinary clinic for treatment. A criminal case was opened against the man under Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruel Treatment of Animals").
