The expert gave advice on choosing interior doors

When choosing a budget interior door it is worth paying attention to veneered or enameled MDF doors. Fyodor Vasiliev, construction expert, general director of the company "GLASNAB", told "Izvestia" on December 24 about how to choose interior doors.

"Do not buy doors covered with film or PVC, veneer and other materials. This is an artificial material, on which even the smallest scratches will be noticeable and static electricity will accumulate. From budget options veneered doors or enameled doors made of MDF have proved themselves well," explained Vasiliev.

According to him, it is important to pay attention to even minor details, such as door handles. First of all, it is worth looking at the material used: aluminum handles are better not to buy, as this material is subject to rapid wear and tear. The handle should be devoid of sharp and therefore potentially dangerous edges. A quality door handle has smooth lines and an unobtrusive coating that will not lose its aesthetic appearance over time.

According to an expert, door hinges play an important role in the appearance of the door. They come in two different types - conventional and concealed. Concealed options are more expensive than their conventional counterparts, which is why they are popular with experienced consultants. Certainly, from an aesthetic point of view they look much more attractive, but they have one important disadvantage - many of them can not open more than 180 degrees.

The closing mechanism of the door also requires special consideration. Currently, the most popular type of lock on the market is the silent reed type. In such locks, the reed is equipped with a plastic element, which reduces the noise level when closing the door. In addition, there is a more modern and durable option -- a magnetic lock, whose tongue does not prevent the door from closing and is only attracted to the slot after the door is already closed.

"Choose a door with as little glass as possible; it will have much better noise insulation values. Avoid a lot of right angles on the outer sides of the door and favor doors with rounded decorative elements. On such doors will settle much less dust", - summarized Vasiliev.
