The AFU lost more than 300 soldiers and Abrams on the Kursk direction over the day

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have lost over 300 fighters and two tanks, including American Abrams, during the day-long fighting in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 23.

"Over the day the losses of the AFU amounted to more than 300 servicemen, two tanks were destroyed, including a tank Abrams produced by the United States, three infantry fighting vehicles - BMP Bradley produced by the United States, BMP Marder produced by Germany and BMP CV-90 produced by Sweden", - stated in the message.

In addition, Ukrainian militants lost three US armored personnel carriers (APCs) - one Stryker and two M113s, an artillery gun, three armored combat vehicles (ACVs), a US-made M88 armored repair and recovery vehicle, four mortars and eight vehicles.

During the total time of fighting in the Kursk direction, the AFU lost more than 43,300 military, 253, 1,315 BBMs, 135 APCs, 324 artillery pieces, 194 infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), and a large amount of other equipment, some of which is Western-made.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that an army aviation crew of the Mi-35M helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group launched a missile strike on AFU personnel and a stronghold in the Kursk border region. The forward aviation gunner recorded that the targets were successfully destroyed.

On the same day, military units of the motorized rifle regiment of the "North" group of troops destroyed armored vehicles and personnel of Ukrainian militants in the Kursk direction. The motorized riflemen uncovered the defenses and firing points of the enemy, who managed to dislodge from the settlement and from fortified positions near it.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
