BMW fired employees in Germany for supplying cars to Russian Federation

BMW has shut down a channel for illegal deliveries of the brand's cars to Russia. The violations were discovered in the course of an internal investigation. Employees who were involved in the export of cars were fired. This was reported on December 22 by the German edition Suddeutsche Zeitung with reference to DPA.
The fact that the BMW division in Hannover supplied more than 100 cars to Russia in circumvention of sanctions was previously reported by Business Insider. The Bavarian automaker confirmed this information.
According to Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, the blocking of the supply channel by BMW will not affect the importation of cars of this brand to Russia.
"Cars will be brought to Russia - still by roundabout ways and with complicated money movement. And, as a consequence, at horse prices. No German manufacturer is going to look for such channels on purpose. But if the press finds out something again, the factories will immediately "take action" - because the supply of cars to Russian buyers is under a strict embargo and no one wants to be prosecuted," Kadakov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Earlier in the day it was reported that in Russia will begin sales of Korean crossovers KGM Torres, the model will be presented in the Russian market in three configurations in versions with both front and all-wheel drive. Car sales will start in the first quarter of 2025. Before KGM was called SsangYong, the company's return to Russia was announced in early November.
