Russia's systemic objectives are balanced economic growth and moderate inflation. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 23 at a meeting on economic issues, which was held via video link.

He noted that he had already emphasized the transition to balanced growth with low unemployment and moderate inflation at the VTB forum "Russia Calling!", as well as at a meeting of the Strategic Development Council.

"This, I remind you, is a pledge, a basic condition for achieving national development goals, for the successful implementation of state programs and national projects," Putin added.

In addition, the head of state called lending to the real sector, industry, agriculture and services an important factor in the confident economic dynamics of increasing investment in the expansion of production and the creation of new jobs.

According to Putin, this applies not only to loans for large businesses, but also for medium and small businesses and start-ups.

During the "Results of the Year" on December 19, the Russian president noted that the growth of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024 will be 3.9-4%. Putin called the economy the foundation of Russia's stability and defense capability. He added that Russia is developing despite external threats.

Before that, on December 16, the head of state said that Russia needs successful business because the success of the country's economy depends on it. He noted that the government works with business on a regular basis.
