President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko offered the assistance of Belarusian specialists in the production of Moskvich cars. He made such an initiative at a meeting with Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, according to the state agency BelTA.

"I very much support you in the fact that you, having given up on these Western sanctions, have started to produce your cars, which we once knew well, but already at a higher level. I think there will be a place for Belarus in these projects, especially in terms of auto components and other things. Maybe even more," Lukashenko was quoted by the agency on December 23.

According to the Belarusian leader, cars of the local brand Belgee are produced near Minsk using Chinese technology. Lukashenko noted in his conversation with Sobyanin that "Moskvichi" is our common" and reminded that Belarus was also involved in the production of these cars.

December 20, "Moskvich" automobile plant announced that the plant had started production of manually driven cars. Moskvich 3 crossover received a special modification.

December 2, it was reported that the car plant "Moskvich" from January to November fulfilled almost 78% of the sales plan for the whole 2024. Thus, sales of cars "Moskvich" since the beginning of the year amounted to 21 thousand units, of which 3 thousand cars were sold in November.
