Authorities reported the serious condition of the victims of the explosion in Abakan

Four victims of the explosion at the former experimental mechanical plant in Abakan in Khakassia are in serious condition. This was reported on December 23 by the Deputy head of the republic Yuri Kurlaev.

"There was an explosion of a vessel during pressure testing. Two people died. Four people are wounded and are in hospital in serious condition. Now investigative actions are underway, they find out <...> whose workshop it is <...>. There is no fire," Kurlaev said in a video message published on his Telegram channel.

He added that he had traveled to the site of the explosion on the instructions of Khakassia's head Valentin Konovalov. The situation is under control.

Konovalov reportedabout the explosion at the former factory in Abakan earlier in the day. He noted that the emergency occurred due to safety violations.
