DPR court to consider in absentia the case of a Lithuanian AFU mercenary

The Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) will consider in absentia the case of a 31-year-old citizen from Lithuania, who is accused of participating in the conflict on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported on December 23 in the press service of the Prosecutor's office of the DNR.

"The Prosecutor's office of the Donetsk People's Republic approved the indictment on the criminal case against 31-year-old citizen of the Republic of Lithuania Albertas Glazauskas. He is charged in absentia under part 3 of article 359 of the Criminal code of the Russian Federation ("Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict")", - stated in the message.

It is reported that the Lithuanian participated in hostilities on the side of the AFU as a mercenary from April 2022 to October 2024. He worked for remuneration, which for all this time amounted to more than 2.2 million rubles.

The man is declared in the international wanted list.

Earlier, on December 10, it became known that the court sentenced in absentia to 14 years in prison 36-year-old citizen of New Zealand Jordan O'Brien, accused of participation in the conflict on the side of the AFU. In August 2024, the man illegally entered Kursk Region, where he took part in military operations as part of the AFU.
