The U.S. State Department recommended that citizens of the country immediately leave Belarus

US citizens should immediately leave Belarus. This recommendation was published by the American State Department on its website.

The office assigned the country the fourth, red, rank, urging not to visit the country.

"U.S. citizens should leave immediately," reads the message of the State Department.

It recalled that in February 2022, the U.S. closed its embassy, located in Minsk, and stopped all consular services - both urgent and routine, so diplomats will not be able to come to the rescue in any situation.

The agency pointed out that there is no concept of dual citizenship in the Belarusian legislation, so people who have both American and Belarusian passports will be treated by the law enforcement agencies of the republic as citizens of Belarus.

Earlier. August 5, the Council of the European Union (EU) imposed new sanctions against 28 citizens of Belarus - journalists, judges, police officers and penal service.

Prior to that, June 29, the association extended a number of anti-Russian sanctions on the republic. For example, the EU banned direct and indirect imports of gold, diamonds, oil and a number of minerals from Belarus.

Later, on December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out during the "Results of the Year" that Moscow would do everything to ensure the security of Minsk, because it is a component of its own security.
