Pushilin said the Russian Armed Forces had taken control of the Chasov Yar neighborhood

Russian forces have taken control of the Severny microdistrict in Chasovy Yar in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was reported by the head of the republic Denis Pushilin on December 23.

"The Severny neighborhood <...> is now under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Also [there is] work in the vicinity of the refractory plant," Pushilin said on air of theRossiya 24TV channel.

He noted that the advance is not very fast, but it is successful - the city is being liberated, even though it requires hard work from the military.

"A stormtrooper is the only person who has seen the enemy in person!"

Earlier, on December 21, the Russian military defeated Ukrainian brigades near a number of settlements in the DNR, including Chasov Yar.

Before that, on November 30, tankers of the Southern Group of Forces destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) drone control point near Chasov Yar. The strike was carried out by a T-72BZ tank, while the fire correction and objective control were carried out by drone operators.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
