American billionaire and entrepreneur Ilon Musk can not be President of the United States, because he was born in another country. This was stated by US President-elect Donald Trump at the AmericaFest conference in the city of Phoenix in the US state of Arizona.

"There is a new [throw-in] that Trump has ceded the duties of the president to Ilon Musk. No, that's not going to happen. But Ilon has done a great job," Trump said, his words broadcast on ABC News' YouTube channel.

The president-elect explained that Musk was not born in the United States. Consequently, he has no right to hold the post of head of state. At the same time, Trump noted that the billionaire demonstrates a fresh look at current world events and this is very important.

Musk was born in 1971 in Pretoria, the administrative capital of the Republic of South Africa (RSA). The U.S. Constitution prohibits citizens who were born outside the country to run for President, reports "Gazeta.Ru".

Earlier, on December 19, the publication HuffPost reported that the rumor that Musk is allegedly a shadow President of the United States, appeared after the billionaire spent the whole day engaged in discussions on the bill to fund the government and argued with Republicans, while Trump remained silent. Pramila Jayapal, a Democratic member of the House of Representatives, said it was clear from this behavior between Trump and Musk who was allegedly in charge.

On the same day, Senator Rand Paul reported that a number of Republican congressmen are proposing to nominate Musk for the position of Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. Paul pointed out that the speaker does not necessarily have to be a congressman.

Trump announced in November that Musk and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy will lead a new structure - the Department of Government Efficiency, which will also oversee the fight against corruption.

The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
