Ken Howery, an investor-entrepreneur and public servant, has been appointed to the post of American ambassador to Denmark. This was announced on December 23 by US President-elect Donald Trump on the social network Truth Social.

"I am pleased to announce Ken Howery as my choice to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark," he wrote and recalled that the candidate served as U.S. Ambassador to Sweden during President Trump's first term.

Ken Howery has also led efforts to strengthen defense, security and economic cooperation between the countries.

"As co-founder of PayPal and the Founders Fund venture capital fund, Ken has turned American leadership in innovation and technology into worldwide success stories, and that experience will be invaluable in representing us abroad", Trump said, pointing the target to the need for control of Greenland for USA national security.

Earlier in the day, Trump nominated billionaire investor Steven Feinberg as the country's deputy defense secretary. He also called Feinberg "an extremely successful businessman."

Prior to that, on December 22, Trump nominated billionaire restaurateur Tilman Fertitta to serve as the U.S. ambassador to Italy. He specified that the billionaire is also the longtime chairman of the University of Houston Board of Regents.

On December 21, Trump announced that television producer Mark Barnett had been appointed as the new U.S. special envoy to the United Kingdom. He specified that Barnett would work to strengthen diplomatic relations between the UK and the US and improve trade and investment opportunities between the countries.

The election of the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the cessation of military conflicts in the world.
