Media reported three injured in an explosion at a military base in South Korea

As a result of an explosion at a military base, which occurred in the southeast of the Republic of Korea in the city of Gimhae, three people were injured. This was reported by Yonhap agency on December 23.

It is specified that the incident occurred at 9:27 local time (3:27 Moscow time) during the completion of inspection of a tank for dangerous goods. According to the police and fire department, three civilians suffered burns as a result of the explosion.

The Korean newspaper Chosun, citing a military official, specified that, tentatively, the explosion could have been caused by a pipe rupture due to problems with a pressure device. The injured were hospitalized in the nearest medical facility.

Earlier, on December 9, it was reported that two people were killed and nine injured after an explosion that occurred at the facility of the Italian oil and gas company Eni in Calenzano (Italian region of Tuscany). It was specified that the accident occurred at the loading site.
