Peskov said there was no impetus to organize a meeting between Putin and Trump

There are no prerequisites or impulses yet for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this on December 23.
"There have been no real impulses so far," he said when asked by TASS about the possibility of holding a meeting even before Trump's inauguration on January 20.
Earlier, on December 22, Trump said during the Turning Point USA conference in Arizona that he was waiting for a meeting with Vladimir Putin to discuss the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Prior to that, on December 19, during a press conference combined with a live line "Results of the Year", the Russian leader noted that he would meet with Trump and expressed readiness for negotiations on the basis of the Istanbul agreements.
On December 16, the US president-elect said that he intended to initiate talks with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term expired on May 20, on the settlement of the conflict.
