New Year is a holiday during which it is hard to refrain from gastronomic excesses in connection with the coming weekend. Expert service Grow Food Ksenia Zabaturina December 23 in a conversation with "Gazeta.ru" gave some advice on how not to overload the body during the holidays.

So, she noted that a sharp increase in the number of feasts, unusual and heavy dishes and excessive alcohol consumption can have a bad effect on health.

"Do not limit yourself in eating before the holidays and do not refuse to eat in anticipation of a feast. Overeating in late December and early January is due to the fact that people are eager to celebrate the holiday "as they should" and refuse food in advance," said Zabaturina.

She noted that sudden overeating causes a feeling of heaviness, which will not only badly affect the body, but also spoil the effect of the holiday.

In addition, Zabaturina said that making food initially is not a good idea, because the products can spoil. She added that you should be sure to check the expiration date of food before you buy it.

The expert also advised to look at alternatives to some of the ingredients that are on every New Year's Eve table.

"Instead of mayonnaise, you can use sour cream or homemade mayonnaise. In some dishes it is also appropriate to replace it with Greek yogurt," Zabaturina reported.

In addition, she reminded about the need for quality sleep. According to the expert, it is categorically impossible to disrupt the regime, otherwise the well-being may deteriorate sharply. Zabaturina advised Russians to pay attention to active rest during the winter vacations.

Earlier, on December 19, nutritionist, endocrinologist Anastasia Tarasko said that the cause of weight gain during the New Year holidays can be not only a large amount of unhealthy food, but also a way of thinking. The nutritionist pointed out that before the festive feast in no case should not be hungry and patient. It is better to organize light snacks, as a strong feeling of hunger always leads to overeating.
