Reconnaissance troops of the "West" group of forces destroyed AFU strongholds and manpower

Servicemen of the reconnaissance unit of the All-Russian Army of the "West" group of troops have destroyed strongholds and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the zone of the special military operation (SMO). This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 23.

It is noted that scouts in one of the directions using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) uncovered camouflaged strongholds with the AFU's manpower by launching several drones from a forest clearing.

Thus, mobile groups of the reconnaissance unit promptly moved to the specified area to conduct reconnaissance and destroy the identified targets using army all-terrain vehicles. As a result of the reconnaissance unit's combat work, several camouflaged dugouts, mortars and AFU manpower were destroyed.

As indicated in the department, fighters with the help of UAVs collect information, often distract the enemy, FPV-drones strike the enemy, conduct reconnaissance of the enemy's leading edge, ways of approach, ammunition supply, suitable reserves, as well as identification of enemy fire points.

"We did a raid on an enemy stronghold, all successful. Produced additional reconnaissance, identified the number of the enemy, identified the weapons they have there, worked off first with artillery, then kamikaze. Under this noise came in, cleaned up," - said the commander of the reconnaissance company with the call sign Gab.

Earlier, on December 13, the Russian Defense Ministry showed footage of objective control of the destruction of the D-30 howitzer of the AFU. The enemy's gun was in a camouflaged firing position in a forest belt, but scouts discovered it. The Russian military destroyed the howitzer with an FPV drone strike.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
