Motorized riflemen destroyed AFU armored vehicles and manpower in the Kursk border area

Servicemen of units of the motorized rifle regiment of the "North" group of troops have destroyed armored vehicles and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 23.

In the course of reconnaissance operations and additional reconnaissance from the air, the motorized riflemen uncovered the enemy's defense system and firing points in the area of one of the settlements. Administrative buildings and private houses, which were previously used by the enemy as shelter, were completely destroyed. During the retreat, the enemy also left behind damaged buildings and burned vehicles.

As a result of the combat work of the Russian units, they managed to dislodge the enemy from the settlement and the fortified positions located nearby.

The motorized rifle regiment successfully carries out combat operations against Ukrainian armed formations every day. It fulfills the tasks of both storming and consolidating the liberated territory.

"Here the interaction between units and the management of each section of the battle is very well established, which helps to preserve the life and health of our fighters. And unmanned aviation is all tied up, and artillery. There is no 'own', 'foreign', everyone helps each other," said the battalion commander with the call sign Valday.

He also noted that Ukrainian fighters are indoctrinated that if they surrender, the Russian military will abuse them.

"I had a specific case when a man asked if I would hang him or slaughter him," Valdai shared.

In addition, according to him, many mobilized people sent to positions within the AFU have never even tried shooting.

Earlier, on December 22, the crew of a Su-34 multirole supersonic fighter-bomber destroyed AFU personnel and a stronghold in the border region of Kursk. The strike on the enemy targets was carried out by aerial bombs with a universal planning and correction module (UMPK). The crew safely returned to the airfield after confirmation of the combat mission from the reconnaissance.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
