US President-elect Donald Trump has said that he is waiting for a meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to discuss the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He made such a statement on December 22 at the Turning Point USA conference in the state of Arizona.

"President Putin has said he wants to meet with me as soon as possible. So we will wait for that, we have to put an end to this <conflict>," Trump said. The event was broadcast by US TV channel The Sun on YouTube.

The US president-elect also said that if he were in the shoes of current US leader Joe Biden, he would not have allowed the Ukrainian conflict.
