The Albanian government has decided to ban the use of TikTok for at least a year. The state's Prime Minister Edi Rama said on December 21.

"In order to improve physical and digital security in schools, we have decided to block the TikTok platform thanks to tools developed by special institutions," Albanian Daily News quoted him as saying.

Ramy specified that the government held more than 1.3 thousand meetings with parents and 90% of them agreed with the decision to block the application.

Earlier, on November 21, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the government adopted a law, according to which children under 16 years old can not use social networks. It was specified that this bill will provide greater protection for young people "at critical stages of their development".
