The center of attraction for the public was the main stage, where dancers competed in k-pop cover dance, and cosplayers demonstrated the skill of reincarnation in unknown monsters and cartoons. And now they have a ground for inspiration for the next year - the main part of the program was the presentation of the largest upcoming Russian film projects, which will give the world new heroes. The first in line are characters from Russian fairy tales that are popular nowadays.

- An important glue between the fifty-year gap between the release of the Soviet movie and ours, was the music of Alexei Rybnikov and his participation in our picture as a composer. For me, "Pinocchio" is fundamentally different from "Pinocchio" because of the music. Otherwise, we took Tolstoy's work as a basis, but it is quite an original work with significant differences from the Soviet movie. One of these is technological. Pinocchio in our story will be really wooden. Yura Borisov is trying to unravel the code of the fairy tale. He said this during the presentation of the picture "Prophet. The story of Alexander Pushkin." Guests of "Hamyakon", among other things, saw an exclusive fragment of the Russian-Chinese detective action movie "Red Silk". Events unfold in the Trans-Siberian Express, which rushes across Russia with foreign spies and thugs in the guise of passengers.
- This is a real spectacular exciting movie. It should be watched on the big screen, there are a lot of tricks, not to mention the detective twists. The aesthetic of the picture is modern - it's told in a non-linear fashion, it's all jumbled up in flashbacks. It will steal your attention for these two hours entirely," actor Gosha Kutsenko, who presented the project at the festival in the company of Gleb Kalyuzhny, Yaroslav Mogilnikov and other colleagues, told Izvestia.
On stage "Khomyakon", in addition, revealed a new antagonist in the universe of "The King and the Jester" - in the future movie actor Ilya Grishin will appear in the image of Necromancer , announced the extension of the series "Youth. New Change" for a second season; showed a fragment from the upcoming animated series "Champions" based on the famous works of Boris Dezhkin ("Shaybu! Shaybu!", "Match Rematch", "Meteor in the ring"); talked about the six-part project "Major Thunder: Serial", which will be released in 2025.
Fans of the BUBBLE publishing house were also presented comics "Razumovsky and Volkov. Road to Nowhere" about the childhood of the heroes and their acquaintance, "Major Thunder. Book 9. Against All," "Major Thunder and Cooper. Thunderstorm of the neighborhood" and the final volumes of the line "Exlibrium".
What spectacles awaited gamers
At the end of November in Russia was held "Game Industry Week", during which a significant number of games from domestic developers were announced. For this reason, video game lovers at Homyakon had to be remembered on the leftover principle - there were simply no major surprises for them.
- At Hamyakon, we strive to unite fans of different universes, so game content is no less important to us than movies and comics. This year we gathered interesting indie projects within the showcase and presented a gaming zone, and in the future we plan to scale the presence of game companies in the festival program, - said Nikita Motorkin, producer of the festival's gaming direction.
Among the notable participants of the Russian video game industry were Innova and Astrum Entertainment. The first company brought its multiplayer game Gran Saga, already launched on mobile devices and personal computers, while Astrum Entertainment limited itself to the presentation of updates in the competitive shooter Warface and previously announced content on Atomic Heart.
"Izvestia" studied the local premieres of the festival - evaluated the first press screening of the real-time strategy The Scouring, played the current version of the comedy shooter Brutal John, saw new content in the interactive visual novel The Hungry Town.
Behind closed doors, the editors also showed the new horror game Plum No Return from the creators of Multitales and a comic prequel to the universe of the game Bunny. The author of the game - Saikono Joker - admitted in an exclusive interview that he plans to release the final fifth chapter of "Bunny" in spring 2025, and its volume will be about 50 thousand words. The first four episodes total 60k words, so the finale will be massive. The prequel in digital comic book format will be sold separately on the game's Steam page.
On December 21, the organizers held a presentation of projects from independent game studios. Among them was, in particular, a turn-based role-playing game Synchro Bright Future, created by the only game studio in the city of Syktyvkar, as well as nostalgic "Filmoscope Horror: Green Eyes", skillfully adapting tales from the era of Soviet diafilms to modern standards. An interesting fact was that the author of "Filmoscope" organized a studio inside a Soviet car.
The creators of the game "Petya and the Wolf: The Case of the Artifact of Adventure" reminded of themselves with a separate presentation with the participation of its authors.
- Without investment in marketing, on organic traffic, the project already has about 10 thousand downloads in AppStore, VK Play and Rustore. On the first day, the game was in the top 6 games on iOS in the category "Adventures, free games". The other day it got a ficher in RuStore and VK Play, where it currently has 8.9 points," said Andrei Voronkov, Deputy General Director of ANO IRI.
Obviously, the festival did not set the task to compete with gamer events like RED Expo or Igroprom, but the needs of the youth audience for video game announcements "Khomyakon" was able to satisfy to the fullest extent.
And the event ended on a musical note. On the last day of the event, the band "Culture Room" and its frontman Zhenya Trofimov performed on the main stage with their hit "Trains".
