The lead singer of the cult American disco band Chic, Alpha Anderson, died on December 17 at the age of 78, People magazine reported on December 22.
The fact of death of the artist confirmed the founder of the group Nyle Rogers in the social network Instagram (owned by the recognized extremist company Meta, its activities are banned in Russia).
The causes of death of the singer are unknown.
Anderson was born in 1947. Her professional career began at an early age. In 1977, the vocalist joined Chic and subsequently performed such hits as Le Freak and Good Times as part of the group.
