Reshetnikov named the main tasks of the Ministry of Economic Development in 2025

In 2025, one of the main tasks in the economic sector is the transformation of statistics. This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov on December 23.

"Of the specific projects before us is the task of transformation of statistics. In general, Rosstat is an underestimated, underinvested institution of the state, to which, I hope, it will be possible to attract attention", - said Reshetnikov in an interview for the publication "Expert".

According to him, there is a certain information hunger in the economy, which needs to be satisfied with high-quality, timely and understandable statistics, using data that are collected and analyzed according to standards.

"Therefore, we will deal with the digitalization of Rosstat in the first place, and it is clear that this will entail changes in business processes, increased efficiency and speed of providing official statistics," Reshetnikov explained.

He called the main results in 2024 the formation of national projects in the field of economy, budgeting in the conditions of tax changes, special military operation and budget load. In addition, he emphasized the successful holding of the BRICS summit in Kazan.

Earlier, on December 20, Reshetnikov called the main challenge of 2025 the policy of cooling the economy. He specified that the negative consequences of this policy are not so noticeable yet due to the fact that they are smoothed out by the traditionally high pre-holiday sales.

Before that, on November 27, "Izvestia" got acquainted with the preliminary version of the federal project "State Statistics". The authorities will unite disparate databases of numerous agencies into one. It is planned to invest 13.3 billion rubles in the reform of state statistics in Russia by 2030. According to the project developers, investments from the federal budget will lead to the fact that by 2030 all statistical data in the Russian Federation will be automatically entered into the Rosstat system.
