Sberbank reported the activation of fraudsters before the New Year

The number of attempts to set fire to administrative buildings and banks under the influence of fraudsters increased by 30% over the past week. This was reported in the press service of Sberbank on December 22.

"Before the New Year holidays, cases of arson attacks under the influence of telephone scammers became more frequent across the country. People lose their money, and then, trying to get it back, make attacks on social and administrative buildings, including bank offices," - quotes the press service "RIA Novosti".

It is specified that the attackers contact the victims from whom they have stolen funds and promise to return the money after the conclusion of a deal, which involves the performance of illegal actions.

Often the attack process is asked to be filmed, and the money is not returned as a result. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Stanislav Kuznetsov noted that fraudsters commit such manipulations, as a rule, being in Ukraine.

On the eve of the head of Krasnogvardeysky district of St. Petersburg Andrei Khort reported that there had been an explosion in the branch of "Sber" on Sredneokhtinsky Avenue. It was specified that there were no victims.

Later "Izvestia" published footage of the arson of the ATM. They show a woman holding a bottle of incendiary mixture, which just poured on the ATM. She then pulls out a cell phone and captures the device in front of her on video before setting it on fire.

Later in the GU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region reported that the alleged perpetrator was detained. According to preliminary data, she acted on the instructions of unknown attackers. It is noted that a criminal case has been opened over the incident.
