Sobyanin assessed the role of power engineers in the development of Moscow

Over 120 thousand specialists of the fuel and energy complex of Moscow provide millions of consumers with heat and electricity and connect socially important facilities to the power grid every day. This was reported by the Mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in his Telegram-channel in a post on the occasion of the Power Engineer's Day.

The mayor congratulated employees and veterans of the fuel and energy complex on their professional holiday. He especially noted the role of power engineers "in the implementation of large-scale programs of urban environment development, improvement of public spaces, housing renovation, reconstruction of health care and education facilities".

According to Sobyanin, in the near future, the capital's power engineers have been assigned large-scale tasks related to the construction of generating capacities and main power transmission lines. "These projects will make it possible to form a strategic reserve of capacity and significantly improve the reliability and security of power supply in the multi-million metropolis," the mayor emphasized.

The mayor also thanked the workers of the industry for their professionalism and for their participation in the restoration of the infrastructure of Moscow's twin cities of Donetsk and Lugansk.

In September, Sobyanin said, in particular, that in the capital of LNR Moscow specialists "restore and repair buildings, structures and engineering infrastructure", as well as "help prepare Lugansk for winter and heating period". In particular, since the beginning of this year there "22.1 kilometers of heating networks, 9.1 kilometers of water supply, 4.7 kilometers of water disposal, 2 transformer substations and more than 130 kilometers of cable lines and outdoor networks have been renewed and repaired," said the mayor of Moscow. In addition, the roofs of dozens of apartment buildings were put in order, a major overhaul of the school was carried out, work was done to improve one of the central highways and a public garden.
