It is prohibited to use pyrotechnics in closed premises, near houses and during snowstorms, Maria Spiridonova, a member of the Russian Bar Association and managing partner of Leges Bureau, reminded on December 22.

"There are certain norms governing the rules for launching fireworks and firecrackers. In particular, you can not launch them indoors (on roofs, balconies, from windows), near gas pipelines and high-voltage power lines, in a snowstorm, in the zone of houses, in forests," she explained in a conversation with RIA Novosti.

Only persons over 16 years old can use pyrotechnic products and only in an open area within 50 meters of houses, Spiridonova pointed out. She specified that these rules do not apply to sparklers and clappers.

Earlier, on December 18, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia recommended that when using pyrotechnics to study the instructions, paying attention to the restrictions on the conditions of handling. At the same time, it is necessary to check the date of manufacture and expiration date of the product.
