AP reported 13 dead due to crush at Christmas events in Nigeria


At two charity Christmas events in Nigeria, 13 people died. The Associated Press reported on Dec. 21.
"Ten people died in the first crush early in the morning in the Catholic Church of the Holy Trinity in Maitama," - stated in the material of the agency.
It is specified that the crush occurred at the entrance near the church gate. It happened because people tried to enter the premises before the appointed time.
Three more people died at a similar event that took place in the town of Okija in the south-east of Anambra State.
Earlier, on December 19, it was reported that the crush at a school fair in Nigeria killed 35 children. The stampede occurred at a school in Ibadan town as participants rushed to get to the venue through the main gate.
