The Rostov region reported the elimination of eight AFU UAVs

Air defense forces and electronic security means have eliminated eight Ukrainian drones over the territory of Rostov Region. This was reported on December 22 by Yuri Slyusar, acting governor of the region.

"This night the forces and means of air defense reflected in the Rostov region combined air attack of the enemy. A total of eight UAVs in the Azov region, near Taganrog and Novocherkassk, as well as a missile near Millerovo were shot down and suppressed by means of electronic warfare," he specified in his Telegram channel.

According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. Information on the damage is being clarified.

Earlier in the day, the governor of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz reported the elimination of five UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the Bryansk region. He specified that there were no casualties or damage.

Before that, on December 21, the Defense Ministry said that 19 Ukrainian drones had been destroyed overnight over four regions of Russia and the Black Sea.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
