People from the missing An-2 airplane in Kamchatka were evacuated by Mi-8 helicopter to Milkovo. This was reported on December 22 by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka region Sergei Lebedev.
"People from the An-2 are on board the Mi-8. It is going to Milkovo. Everyone is alive," he wrote on his page in the social network "VKontakte".
Spokesman for the Federal Air Transport Agency (FAA) Artem Korenyako specified that the Mi-8 helicopter of the Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise with rescuers from the Kamchatka RPSB found the An-2 airplane with two crew members and a passenger near Mount Tundrovaya.
The main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Kamchatka Krai also reported that at the moment the exact condition of the crew members and the passenger is unknown. Two helicopters of the Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise with rescuers of the regional search and rescue base, as well as the ground group of rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia and KGKU "CDC" were involved in the search for the missing airplane by air.
Earlier in the day, the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka region Sergei Lebedev reported that the previously missing An-2 airplane was found in Kamchatka.
The disappearance of the plane An-2 became known on December 19. Minister of Emergency Situations of the Kamchatka region Sergei Lebedev reported the beginning of the rescue operation. Later Lebedev said that from the aircraft received a signal of emergency landing. In the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region specified that on board the aircraft were 800 kg of commercial cargo, two crew members and one passenger.
At the same time it was reported that a ground group of rescuers went to the place of the alleged emergency landing of the plane An-2 in Kamchatka.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region also noted that a helicopter with rescuers from the regional search and rescue base flew from the village of Milkovo. In addition, from the city of Yelizovo was planned departure of a helicopter Mi-8 with personnel of the Kamchatka rescue center on board.
Soon Sergei Lebedev said that the rescuers caught a stable radio signal of the beacon in the search area for the missing An-2 airplane in Kamchatka, and the Mi-8 helicopter landed and is waiting out the weather.
Also, Rosaviatsia representative Artem Korenyako noted that the search for the An-2 airplane, missing in Kamchatka, is complicated by difficult weather conditions, as well as terrain features. On December 22, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region reported about the resumption of the search for the missing An-2 aircraft in connection with the improvement of weather conditions.
