Boxer Usik defeated Tyson Fury and defended his world title
Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usik defeated Britain's Tyson Fury to defend three world titles in the heavyweight division.
The fight was held in Saudi Arabia in the city of Riyadh on the night of December 21-22 and lasted 12 rounds. As a result of the confrontation Usik became the winner by unanimous decision of the judges - 116-112.
In addition, for the first time in the history of boxing was used referee, created on the basis of artificial intelligence. He also awarded the victory to Usik.
As a result, the Ukrainian athlete retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Organization (WBO) titles, as well as the World Boxing Council (WBC) belt for the first time.
Earlier, on May 19, Usik won the title of absolute world champion in the heavyweight division by defeating Fury. The fight lasted all 12 rounds of three minutes each. At the end of the ninth Usik managed to send the Briton into a knockdown. For 35-year-old Fury, the defeat in this fight was the first in his career.
