The sappers made a passageway in the minefield of the AFU in the liberated territories of the LPR

Servicemen of the engineer-sapper battalion of the All-War Army of the "West" group of troops have made a passage in a minefield of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) militants in the liberated territory in the zone of the special military operation (SMO) in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on December 22.

"We found a minefield, not marked on the map of minefields. We used the installation ZRP-2 to make a passage in it so that sappers could demine this field in the future", - said the operator of the demining installation Ilya.

It is specified that the sappers found a field with mines PFM-1 "Lepestok". To make a passage in it was used portable extended charge ZRP-2 "Trail", which allows you to clear a path 60 meters long and 2 meters wide.

After the squad arrives at the site, the situation is initially assessed to understand the scope and plan of work. Next, the sappers begin clearing the area of explosive objects.

Servicemen of engineer-sapper battalions work constantly, because when retreating, the AFU militants leave behind a huge number of areas with scattered, sometimes camouflaged, explosive devices. As a rule, such mines are destroyed on the spot by detonation. In addition, sappers often perform field work at the request of local residents.

Earlier, on December 20, military engineers of the separate engineer-sapper battalion of the Southern Group of Forces conducted demining of Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) Ukrainsk, which was liberated from the Ukrainian armed forces, from explosive objects.

Before that, on December 12, Russian servicemen demined the village of Pavlovka from AFU shells. Russian servicemen work in anti-shrapnel suits and with the help of modern mine detectors conduct engineering reconnaissance of the area, demine roads and homestead plots.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
