- Pentagon names warehouse and Houthi command center as targets of U.S. strikes in Sanaa

The targets of the US strikes in the Yemeni capital Sanaa were a missile depot and an operational center of the Houthis. This was reported by the US Central Command of the Armed Forces (CENTCOM) on December 21.
"U.S. Central Command forces on December 21 conducted precision airstrikes on a missile depot and a command and control center operated by Iranian-backed Houthis on Houthi-controlled territory in Sanaa, Yemen," a message on the social network X (former Twitter) said.
It is specified that Navy and Air Force assets, including F/A-18 fighter jets, were used for the strike. CENTCOM emphasized that the strikes were deliberate to disrupt and weaken the operations of the Houthis, such as attacks on U.S. Navy warships and merchant ships in the southern Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden.
Earlier in the day, Al Masirah TV channel reported that Yemen's capital Sanaa was hit by a massive airstrike. According to state broadcaster Kan, the attack was carried out by the international anti-terrorist coalition led by the US.
At the same time, the Israeli army military recorded the launch of one rocket from the Yemeni side towards central Israel. TV channel Al Mayadeen with reference to medics reported about 30 injured as a result of the attack. It was noted that the IDF began an investigation into the reasons for the failure to intercept the missile launched from the direction of Yemen.
The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
