Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik said that CIA chief William Burns arrived in Kiev on Saturday to hide loose ends ahead of an audit of US President-elect Donald Trump. He said this in a conversation with TASS on December 21.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, reported on Burns' visit in his Telegram channel. According to him, this is far from the first meeting. Previously, they were held without official information, but an exception was made for Burns' last visit as head of the CIA. The Ukrainian president thanked the head of the CIA for his help and wished him good luck.

Miroshnyk pointed out that Burns arrived in order to put pressure on the Kiev authorities, which can pass to Trump kompromat on the administration of the current US President Joe Biden.

"Burns came to Kiev to hide loose ends and stipulate with Zelensky Kiev's actions when Trump will start an audit of the multi-billion dollar expenditures of the US budget on the Ukrainian track. Trump's auditors will be looking for dirt on the Democrats' actions, and Kiev is the most vulnerable track for this, where, like a bottomless pit, both the US budget funds and weapons supplied by the US went," Miroshnik said.

According to him, evidence of illegal actions of American functionaries related to the Democrats and Biden can most likely be found in Ukraine. In this regard, the Democrats are not sure of Zelensky's loyalty to their commitments to them, which is why they sent Burns with arguments that should keep Zelensky from handing over dirt on the Democrats.

Earlier, on December 19, in a conversation with Izvestia, Nikita Danyuk, deputy director of the PFUR Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts and a member of the Russian Public Chamber, said that Trump may decide to conduct a serious audit in Kiev after the inauguration. In his opinion, the question of what exactly Americans' taxes are spent on was part of Trump's election campaign.

On December 12, the first Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexei Chepa said that the investigation against Zelensky could put Democrats behind bars. According to the parliamentarian, the Democrats are trying to complicate the possibility of an investigation just for this reason. Thus, the current US President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter, because the whole family and other Democrats pop up when investigating his activities in Ukraine.

Also on this day, Oleksandr Dudchak, a member of the international public movement "The Other Ukraine" and a candidate for the post of FBI director, linked the plans of the candidate for the post of FBI director, Kash Patel, to investigate Kiev's spending with corruption in Ukraine.

Patel said on December 11 that he intended to investigate Zelensky's activities. He emphasized that Americans should know what their money is spent on, and also wondered how the US Congress manages to get away with it.

On December 10, Trump posted a picture on social media describing the Biden family's corruption scheme in Ukraine. He called it Bidenomics: first American citizens pay taxes, then the Biden administration sends them to Ukraine, then Kiev forwards the money to Biden's son Hunter, who redirects it to his father. At the end, the American leader decides to pardon his son.

Before that, on December 7, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that the total amount of military support to Ukraine from allies since the beginning of the special military operation exceeded $119 billion, which also includes $62 billion of U.S. aid.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the background of the special operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbas, which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 24 February 2022 after the situation in the region worsened due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
