A massive airstrike was carried out on the Yemeni capital Sanaa. This was reported by Al Masirah TV channel on December 21.

According to the state broadcaster Kan, the attack was carried out by the international anti-terrorist coalition led by the United States.

In turn, Al Hadath TV channel reported that the target of the airstrikes were military facilities of the Houthis.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli army recorded the launch of one rocket from Yemen in the direction of central Israel. TV channel Al Mayadeen with reference to medics reported about 30 injured as a result of the attack. It was noted that the IDF launched an investigation into the reasons for the failure to intercept the rocket launched from the direction of Yemen.

Prior to that, on December 19, the Israel Defense Forces attacked the facilities of the Houthi regime in Yemen. It was reported that the attacked targets were being used by the Houthis for their military operations and Iranian arms transfers.

On that day, the Israel Defense Forces also reported intercepting a rocket fired from Yemen toward Israeli territory. The IDF noted that air-raid sirens sounded in several areas of central Israel due to the firing and the possibility of falling debris from the interception.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected Israeli territory to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
