Law enforcement authorities have detained the alleged perpetrator of the arson attack on an ATM in the branch of "Sber" in St. Petersburg. This was reported on December 21 in the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

"In the course of realization of a complex of operational-search measures by criminal investigation officers at the place of residence, in an apartment on Bolsheokhtinsky Avenue, detained 68-year-old pensioner", - stated in the message of the body in Telegram-channel.

According to preliminary data, she acted on the instructions of unknown attackers. It is noted that on the fact of the incident a criminal case was initiated, operational and investigative measures continue.

As specified by the head of the Krasnogvardeysky district of the city Andrei Khort, during the examination of the house, on the first floor of which the bank branch is located, no damage was found. The residents and the apartment on the second floor have not suffered.

In addition, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov said that security measures had been strengthened in the city. The situation is controlled by law enforcement agencies.

The explosion in the branch of "Sber" on Sredneokhtinsky Avenue in St. Petersburg became known earlier inthe day. It was specified that there were no victims.

Later "Izvestia" published footage of the arson of the ATM. They show a woman holding a bottle of incendiary mixture, which she just poured on the ATM. Then she takes out a cell phone and fixes the device in front of her on video, and then sets it on fire.
