Omsk and Perm will become the youth capitals of Russia in 2025. This was announced on December 21 by First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Sergey Kiriyenko at the award ceremony "Time of the Young" in the national center "Russia" in Moscow.

In his speech, he thanked the teams of youth capitals of 2024. This year they were Moscow and Vladivostok. According to him, a lot of work has been done to make the status of the youth capital sound proud.

The first deputy head of the presidential administration of the Russian Federation said that the voting was held in three stages to determine the capitals of 2025.

According to Kirienko, the gap between the leaders amounted to only 500 votes, so, as in last year's voting, the jury could not choose just one winner.

"In 2025, Russia will again have two youth capitals - Omsk and Perm," Kirienko announced.

Earlier, on August 29, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the Russian government had approved the strategy of youth policy for the next six years. He noted that in total, Russia has almost 38 million people aged 14 to 35. The key directions will be support of volunteer movement, creation of opportunities for youth professional development, expansion of access to quality Internet content, promotion of Russian language, as well as improvement of tourist environment.

In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his address to the Federal Assembly that the Russian Federation will launch a national project "Youth of Russia" in 2024. He also pointed out that it was necessary to consolidate positive experience in the sphere of youth policy.
