Emergency mode of municipal character is introduced in Kerch after an accident with tankers

In Kerch after the accident with tankers in the Black Sea, a state of emergency of a municipal nature has been introduced. About it on Saturday, December 21, reported the press service of the Government of the Republic of Crimea in Telegram-channel.

"In the Leninsky district of Crimea introduced emergency threat regime of municipal character", - said Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers Igor Mikhailichenko.

It is specified that the fuel oil after the accident with oil tankers reached the shores of the Kerch Peninsula: Cape Snake and fortress Yeni-Kale.

The federal and regional Emergencies Ministry, the Crimean Ministry of Ecology, as well as two vessels of the marine rescue service are involved in cleaning up the coast. A total of 112 people and 12 units of land equipment are involved.

The press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said that oil slicks found on the Kerch coast were locally eliminated, more than 700 kilograms of oil products were removed.

"Work is underway in the area of Cape Snakey. For the elimination of slicks in the Kerch Strait sent a boat with Crimean employees of the special marine detachment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry", - stated in the message of the Department in Telegram-channel.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that 54 km of the Black Sea coastline in the Krasnodar region need to be cleaned from fuel oil pollution after the accident with oil tankers. More than 6 thousand people and over 300 units of equipment are involved in the work.

The tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15 due to bad weather. As a result of the incident there was a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels. It was specified that one person died.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, on the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, created a working group to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the accident with tankers in the Kerch Strait.
