The Defense Ministry reported about the increase in the production of UAVs by the people's defense industry to 40 thousand per month

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said on Saturday, December 21, that civilian production facilities will increase the output of drones to 40 thousand per month.

"On UAVs and FPV drones - up to 40 thousand products per month, on REB and RER systems - up to 5 thousand products per month. In total, more than 100 thousand products of small design bureaus and civilian manufacturers have been purchased," the minister said at the Technical Council of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the "People's Front".

He praised the new mechanisms for accelerated introduction of modern weapons and equipment developed by the Russian defense-industrial complexes (DIC) for the needs of the army. The Minister emphasized the wide use of drones of various types in the course of air defense for reconnaissance, strikes and cargo transportation, as well as for communication and combat operations.

Belousov also reported on the effective work of the Technical Council of the "people's defense industry," thanks to which more than 65 types of weapons and military equipment have been delivered to the troops since April. These include various types of drones, electronic surveillance equipment, electronic warfare systems and unmanned boats.

Earlier, on December 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin at an expanded meeting of the Defense Ministry's board of directors demanded to increase the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The head of state noted that several thousand drones are delivered to the Russian troops every day, the combat and operational characteristics of which should be improved.
