Russian air defense forces have destroyed three Ukrainian drones over Crimea. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on December 21.

"Between 15:40 and 16:10 Moscow time, on-duty air defense forces destroyed three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type over the territory of the Republic of Crimea," the ministry said.

Earlier on December 21, the Russian Defense Ministry said that 19 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed overnight over four Russian regions and the Black Sea. Thus, nine drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were destroyed by on-duty air defense means over the territory of Belgorod region, five UAVs were shot down over the territory of Voronezh region, three - over the waters of the Black Sea and one each was destroyed over the territories of Kursk region and Krasnodar Krai.

On the same day, Governor Alexander Gusev reported about the UAVs shot down by the AFU in the suburbs of Voronezh and two districts of Voronezh region. According to him, there are no casualties and destruction as a result of the attack of Ukrainian drones.

The AFU is trying to strike Russian territories against the background of the special operation in Donbass, the beginning of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
