A man who set off fireworks in a shopping center was detained in Korolev, Moscow Region

Police in the Moscow Region town of Korolev detained a man who set fire to pyrotechnics in the premises of a shopping center. This is reported by the Interior Ministry Department of the Moscow region on December 21.

Law enforcers received a report of smoke in the shopping center on Cosmonautov Avenue. It was preliminarily established that an unknown person set fire to some pyrotechnic product and fled. There were no casualties.

"Later the man came to the Kostinsky police Department of the UMVD of Russia in the urban district of Korolev, where he also tried to set fire to the pyrotechnics, but his actions were stopped by police officers," - stated in the Telegram-channel of the Department.

The attacker was detained for violation of public order. He turned out to be a local resident of 1961 year of birth. All the circumstances of the incident are being established.

Before that, on December 20, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk said that in Moscow detained a man who threatened employees of a public catering establishment with a strikeball grenade. He demanded from the staff to give out the previously canceled order, the money for which had been returned, and threatened with an object similar to a grenade. A bag with an unknown substance was found at the place of residence of the detainee. A criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Article 213 and Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism" and "Trafficking in narcotic drugs").
