The newest small missile ship Tucha of Project 22800, having completed all sea trials at sea firing ranges, has been accepted into the Russian Navy. The solemn ceremony with hoisting the St. Andrew's flag on the ship was held on December 21 in Kaspiysk at the basing point of the Caspian Flotilla ships under the leadership of Vice-Admiral Igor Mukhametshin, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy for Armament.

On behalf of Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, he thanked the staff of the Zelenodolsk shipyard for strengthening the combat power of the Russian Navy. Mukhametshin expressed confidence that the crew of the "Tuchi" will honorably "fulfill the assigned tasks, continuing the glorious feats of sailors."

"By the order of the Navy Commander-in-Chief, the MSC "Tucha" is enlisted in the ship's composition of the Black Sea Fleet," the Russian Defense Ministry's website stated.

The ceremony was also attended by the commander of the Caspian Flotilla Rear Admiral Oleg Zverev, General Director of JSC "Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation" Renat Mistakhov and General Director of JSC "Zelenodolsk plant named after A.M. Gorky" Alexander Filippov.

Before that, on December 21, the head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Sevmash Mikhail Budnichenko said that the newest multipurpose nuclear-powered submarine Arkhangelsk of Project 885M (code name Yasen-M) had completed all tests and was being prepared for transfer to the Russian Navy.

A day earlier, Russian Navy Chief Admiral Alexander Moiseyev said that both nuclear submarines will be handed over to the Navy in the near future. At the same time, he specified that the need to have such vessels in the fleet is dictated by the need for effective and modern weapons, which strategic and multi-purpose nuclear submarines carry.
