Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan has become a two-time winner of the Russian Figure Skating Championship, the competition is held on Saturday, December 21, in Omsk.

Darya Sadkova (234.69) came second, while Alina Gorbacheva (223.92) took bronze.

Earlier, on December 20, the International Skating Union (ISU) allowed Russians to qualify for the Olympic Games - 2026 in a neutral status. The Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKR) and the Russian Skating Union (SKR) must select one athlete (pair) in each discipline. The Russian team will not be admitted to the team tournaments at the Olympic Games. It is noted that athletes will not be able to give comments to the media and participate in press conferences. ISU expects applications until February 28. Competitions will be held in Italy.

Russian Sports Minister and President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Mikhail Degtyarev said that the ISU decision to allow Russian athletes to qualify for the Olympics is a significant breakthrough, bringing them closer to a full return to the international sports arena.

The suspension of Russians from international competitions in speed skating, short track speed skating and figure skating came into effect in 2022.
