Fraudsters swindled almost 11 million rubles from a 78-year-old pensioner from Moscow, a source of Izvestiya reported on December 21.

First, the elderly Muscovite received a Telegram call from an intruder who introduced himself as the director of a tour operator and warned that she would be contacted by law enforcement officials as part of an inspection.

After that, the criminals contacted the woman disguised as employees of the Federal Service of Russia (FSB), the Central Bank of Russia and an investigator. Referring to a certain transfer from her account in the amount of 700 thousand rubles, they persuaded the pensioner to put all her funds into the "insurance" account and withdraw them at a bank branch.

After that, the victim gave the fraudsters information about all her accounts, gave the courier Br10 million in cash and deposited Br950 thousand into an unknown account. A criminal case has been initiated.

Before that, December 21, a source of "Izvestia" reported that a pensioner from St. Petersburg had given more than Br6 million to fraudsters. Attackers introduced themselves as employees of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and law enforcement agencies. Citing the safety of the 86-year-old St. Petersburg woman's money, they forced her to transfer her savings to them via couriers.
