Sobyanin spoke about the work of multidisciplinary stroke hospitals in Moscow

Thanks to the work of the Moscow stroke network, mortality from this vascular catastrophe has decreased by 15%, and disability - by 35%. The Mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin told about it in his personal blog.

As noted by the mayor, time plays a key role in strokes. "The faster the patient is taken to the hospital and doctors do their work, the more chances to save the patient and the higher the chance of recovery," he wrote.

Now the stroke network in Moscow includes 13 multidisciplinary hospitals - as a result, the network covers the entire city. To help children, the stroke center operates on the basis of Morozov Hospital.

Sobyanin emphasized the role of using digital services for effective patient routing. "The ambulance dispatcher sees the picture of the whole city and can almost instantly pick up a hospital with free angiographic operating rooms and neuroreanimation beds," the mayor emphasized.

Thanks to this, Moscow has managed to introduce a standard, according to which emergency surgery for stroke patients starts no later than 40 minutes after admission to the hospital. In addition, the latest equipment, with which medical institutions are equipped, allows doctors to use high-tech diagnostic methods. So, in deciphering of scans and definition of foci of pathology doctors are helped by artificial intelligence, Sobyanin added.

In September, Sobyanin said that specialists of Morozov hospital have developed and patented an effective method of diagnosing pediatric stroke. It is about the "bubble test" - a type of echocardiography, which is carried out using ultrasound. This method helps to detect holes between the heart chambers: specialists inject a test solution, artificially increase the pressure in the heart and use ultrasound to determine the entry of microbubbles into it. "This is an opportunity to prevent a serious disease in the future," Sobyanin emphasized.
